Our Building Process

What should you look for when you choose a custom builder or remodeling company? First, you should be aware that there are two types of home remodeling companies.

The first type includes home remodeling as a side business. They are painters, sheet rock professionals, flooring professionals or something else first. They tend to be fantastic painters, but home remodeling comes with a series of daily challenges that really takes the hands on experience that comes with being a dedicated home builder.

Companies like Soledad are builders first. This is our bread and butter. Whole home remodels and new custom home builds are all that we do. That’s why we’re so skilled at making the finished product look like it was part of the original home design. It’s also why we’re so good at keeping the entire remodel moving along right on schedule, so that your life is disrupted as little as possible.

How we are different

We have a commitment to understanding what finishes you are looking for from the very beginning. That makes our estimates some of the most accurate in the industry. We’re also committed to using sustainable, high quality finishes. We use a state-of-the-art project management software called Co-Construct to keep you up to date with every aspect of your project from start to finish. Just imagine being able to make decisions about your project 24/7 at the touch of a button! We make it just that easy for you.

Our Process

Step 1: First, we meet with you to learn about your vision for your home. If you already have plans we’ll go over these. If not, we can refer you to area architects who are perfect for the style of the design that you are after. Our referral process can save you a lot of time and money—shopping for an architect can be frustrating if you’ve never done it before, and we want to make it as easy on you as possible.

Step 2: You’ll choose your finishes at this meeting. We’ll help you nail down all of the finer details of the project: flooring, countertops, windows, interior doors, paint color, and more. We are going to spend quite a bit of time on this because we want to provide you with the most accurate quote. We aren’t going to choose the cheapest finishes by default unless that’s your largest concern. We want to build you something that lasts, and something that you’re happy with for a very long time.

Step 3: A few weeks after the second meeting we’ll be able to provide you with our bid. We’ll meet with you to review the estimate and answer any questions that you might have. After you agree to the bid we launch into action, acquiring all of the necessary permits and engineering consultations that we need to get the job done in a timely fashion.

Step 4: Next, we’ll get you set up in Co-Construct. Log in to this cutting edge software any time, day or night, to learn the exact status of your project. You’ll know when it’s time to approve the countertop color. You’ll know who you need to contact and what you need to talk to them about. You’ll know what’s been completed and what the next step will be. You’ll see the whole timeline of your project, and you’ll be able to ask questions immediately and feel confident that you’ll get answers fast. You can even upload photos of windows, countertops, kitchens, bathrooms, or whatever home features you really like.

But we don’t stop the communication process there. We also meet with our clients each and every week once construction starts, just to make sure we’re all on the same page about what’s happening. You will never be left in the dark with Soledad.
